What does it really look like to grow a business while raising a family?

I recently had the privilege of joining Jennifer Gagnon on The Sustainable Mom Podcast to talk about the messy, beautiful intersection of entrepreneurship, motherhood, and intentional living.

We went deep into how my vision for Roop Creative Agency shifted after becoming a mom, and how I’ve redefined what success means—on my terms. Spoiler: it’s not about doing more. It’s about building a business that works for my life, not against it.

Here are some highlights from our conversation:

Motherhood reshaped my business and my priorities Time with my family is the ultimate luxury. Learning how to create a business that gives me that time has been my greatest shift.

Scaling isn’t always about bigger or faster Sometimes sustainable growth looks like slowing down, refining, and falling back in love with the work you do.

The value of community and mentorship Finding people who get it—whether that’s clients, collaborators, or mentors—has made all the difference.

Being selfish isn’t a bad thing Giving yourself permission to protect your energy, set boundaries, and prioritize your own joy is powerful—not shameful.

This conversation is for every working mom, creative, or entrepreneur who’s ever felt pulled in a million directions. You don’t have to choose between ambition and motherhood. You can build a business—and a life—that feels good, sustainable, and true to you.
