When the Brand Evolves (but the Logo Stays): The Story Behind NFG Designs’ Rebrand

Some projects feel like a full-circle moment, and this was one of them.

Nikki, the founder of NFG Designs, has been one of our longtime clients. We designed her logo and website back in 2019, a time when we were still offering logo-only packages (which we definitely don’t anymore, but that’s a story for another day).
Back then, Nikki knew exactly what she wanted, and to this day, she still loves that logo. But as her business grew and her creative vision evolved, something started to feel off. Not broken, just missing. And if you’re a designer, you know that’s where the magic begins.
She wanted her brand to feel like home. Something timeless, grounded, and deeply her. She craved a colour palette that reflected her evolution and showcased her interior design style. She wanted icons, variations, and structure. A system that would allow her to show up fully and consistently across her work. Because branding isn’t just how something looks; it’s how you take ownership of your presence.
At first, I offered a custom visual Identity only package. No logo redesign, just a refined system. But Nikki, being the visionary she is, knew that wouldn’t do it justice. She understood that a piecemeal update wouldn’t unlock the clarity she was craving. She needed the full process we’re known for, the deep dive, even if the logo stayed the same.
So she signed on for our full Brand Development experience. And let me tell you, it was worth it.
Even knowing we might not touch her original logo, I still wanted to give her more. So I presented a second concept, a refreshed take on her existing mark, just so she could see what else was possible. And when she confidently chose to stick with her original design, that’s when I knew this wasn’t about change for the sake of change. It was about refinement, alignment, and intention.
The process revealed so much more than either of us expected:
✨ A redirected colour palette that feels grounded, soft, and entirely NFG Designs
✨ Font updates that enhanced both functionality and flow
✨ A custom hand-drawn icon made just for her, for those sweet, in-between storytelling moments
✨ An alternative logo to expand her visual toolkit without diluting her essence
✨ A full brand style guide to bring clarity, consistency, and confidence moving forward
We also refreshed her website to reflect the new brand direction. Subtle shifts that create a powerful impact in how her work is experienced. It’s the kind of evolution that feels like both a glow-up and a grounding.

This project is a reminder of why we don’t offer logo-only packages anymore. Because your brand is so much more than a logo. It’s the feeling, the function, the foundation. And when it’s done right, it becomes the most powerful expression of where you’re going.
